This video is a submission to the Lonely Planet "My Journey" travel video contest. "Where there are no strangers, only friends you haven't met," is how bartender Jon Mayer described Annapolis local favorite Davis' Pub. Jon's quote was exactly what Dan Hayes and I (Clay Broga) found on our weekend trip to Annapolis, Maryland. Often overshadowed by DC and Baltimore, Annapolis is the perfect small town to escape the city....even if its pouring rain, which it did during our visit. The pubs and restaurants were simply awesome. The food was hot, the drinks were cold, but what really set everything apart was the people. Whether pickin' crabs at Cantler's, saying the Pledge at Chick & Ruth's, or throwing back a few (or more) at Davis' Pub, you're sure to meet some hometown folks who have poured everything into their businesses. And it shows. We felt it, and hopefully you can too by checking out this 3-minute rundown of our encounters with the great people of Annapolis. Big ups to our musical friends (in order of appearance): The Method, No Wonder and Rob Hodge, and Farm Vegas.
